Responding to consumer demands for cleaner, longer lasting antimicrobial technology, Noble Biomaterials offers a suite of treatments within its Ionic+ collection. The company reports that its newly branded antimicrobial is experiencing rapid growth within the helmet space garnering support from a multitude of brands this season. Additionally the Ionic+ antimicrobial tech is set to debut in helmet offerings slated for Bike ’22, followed by Snow for ’22-’23. Several delivery options are available between yarn or fabric treatment, according to Noble Biomaterials, Scranton, PA.

Helmet partners Oakley, Giro, Fox, Troy Lee Designs, Leatt, Bell, Shred and 6D Helmets and Smith feature Ionic+ this season.

The technology behind Ionic+ is the release of positively charged silver ions in the presence of moisture, a prime example being under helmets during active pursuits. This natural release of silver ions helps inhibit and eliminate growth of negatively charged microbes and bacteria on the surface of the product. The benefits of less odor, and thus less washing, result in product longevity.

“Partnering with the best helmet brands in the world speaks directly to how versatile and technical the Ionic+ platform has become,” says Allon Cohne, CMO, Noble Biomaterials.
