Spinnova and adidas Unveil First Commercial Product:  The Terrex HS1 hoodie makes its debut as the first adidas product made with sustainable Spinnova fibers marking the first time Spinnova sustainable material is available globally for consumers. Availability is slated for July 2022. Composed of a minimum of 25 percent sustainably-sourced wood-based fibers and organic cotton, that produces 65 percent less CO2 emissions and uses 99 percent less water than cotton production,  the adidas TERREX HS1 is a mid-layer knit that retains its natural color by forgoing dyeing or bleaching chemicals. Spinnova’s first commercial-scale factory is on track for completion in Finland at the end of 2022. Spinnova and its Woodspin joint venture partner Suzano have a scaling target of a million tonnes of global fiber production capacity per annum within the next 10-12 years. adidas became a cornerstone investor in Spinnova’s initial public offering last June.


brrr Intros Cationic Dyed Polyester Yarn:  New brrr cooling cationic dyed (CD) polyester yarn can be single dyed or double dyed to achieve a true heathered or solid effect for both knit and woven fabrics for increased flexibility in designing fabrics and allowing for a more diverse product offering for brrr customers. Spun in Taiwan, the new CD yarn is ideal for base layers, sleepwear, activewear and other lifestyle apparel. According to the company, the new CD polyester yarn has been independently lab tested by globally recognized third parties to prove that it outperforms other cooling brands in the market.


Heiq AeoniQ Yarns Endorsed by Hugo Boss & LYCRA Company: Hugo Boss has made a $5M (US) equity investment in HeiQ AeoniQ LLC and additional contingent $4M (US) based on performance milestone arrangements. The LYCRA Company has also become the exclusive distributor for HeiQ AeoniQ yarn by making a significant, undisclosed investment and by committing to develop the technology for broad application in textiles. Prior to HUGO BOSS’ equity investment, The LYCRA Company agreed to be the exclusive distributor for HeiQ AeoniQ yarn through payment of a milestone-driven technology fee and a commitment to leverage its deep textiles knowledge and market channel access to prepare this new technology for broad use in apparel applications.
