Asics

This season, Asics has introduced Repreve’s sustainable fiber into its apparel items, beginning with five new pieces that feature Repreve yarn, made from recycled plastic bottles. The brand says the launch is part of the testing phase for Asics’ sustainability journey through apparel with more integration expected into the future. Items in the new line include the Kate Strappy Bra, Kate Pocket Capri, Kate Pocket Tight, 2IN Train Short and Performance Tight. MSRP $30-$65.

Anita Active

Two standout performers from Anita for Spring 2023 are the PanAlp DeltaPad Sports Bra (Style 5562) and Sports Tights Compression Leggings (Style 1687). The racerback style PanAlp DeltaPad Sports Bra has an ergonomic shape with breathable tech fabric for a combination of style and function, and the coordinating Sports Tights Compression Leggings are fast-drying and breathable. The PanAlp DeltaPad Sports Bra has wide padded straps for support in the neck area, a special cup construction for optimal and comfortable air circulation, and patented triangle shaped DeltaPad cups attached to the inside of the cups, lined with moisture wicking terry cloth. Anita Active’s Sports Tights Compression Leggings, meanwhile, are the first in the PanAlp collection, a sub brand of Anita Active. They have the signature PanAlp high performance power with the combination of two different technical fabrics in various areas. A compressive textured fabric with 3D nubs is used at the calves, the side leg sections and the buttocks area. And a thinner compression fabric, is used in the front section of the legs and the back of the knees. The constant toning massage of the legs, while wearing and exercising in these leggings, can help increase blood circulation in the legs, according to the brand. MSRP $89 (bra); $89 (leggings).

Smartwool

Breathable, lightweight, Merino activewear is where it’s at with Smartwool’s Women’s Active Ultralite Racerback Tank and Intraknit Active Lined Short, both releasing in 2023. The odor-resistant tank has a classic racerback design and is made with 53% Merino Wool and 47% Lyocell. Its ultra-lightweight, super-soft, blended Merino and TENCEL performance fabric is designed to help the wearer stay cool and comfortable when working up a sweat. The Intraknit Active Lined Short, meanwhile, is made with lightweight, recycled stretch-woven fabric and has a quick-dry finish. The Merino/TENCEL blend liner adds breathability, enhances thermoregulation, and dries quickly. MSRP $45 (tank); $95 (shorts).

Roark

Artist and ultra-distance runner Travis Weller collaborated with adventurous apparel brand Roark on items in the brand’s trail running and active collection Run Amok. The line has “a unique vision of trail running and functional activewear born from adventure.” Standouts in the collab include the Weller Second Wind 2.0 jacket and the Weller Serrano 2.0 short.  The ultra-lightweight, trim fit, reflective and packable Second Wind jacket features stretch ripstop fabric with a no-shine dry feel and a DWR finish. The lightweight, breathable Serrano 8” short is constructed from a lightweight Repreve recycled polyester 4 way stretch, and has a DWR finish. MSRP $129 (jacket); $75 (shorts).

Recover Brands

The Sport Elite Tee and Tank are designed for maximum comfort and versatility. Sport Elite aims to be the ideal performance garment for hitting the trails, running laps, or jogging around the neighborhood. Featuring micro waffle knit technology, Sport Elite dries fast, wicks moisture, and drapes perfectly with the right amount of stretch to keep its shape while providing full range of motion. Available in a variety of styles, Sport Elite is designed for all body types. MSRP $35 (tee); $35 (tank).

Vuori

The Stride Legging from Vuori is designed to be a perfect choice for runners. Made with performance stretch nylon, this moisture-wicking, high-rise legging is quick-drying with subtle stash pockets and a 7/8 length. Other key features include: An interior drawcord, hidden zip pocket, reflective logo, and UPF protection. MSRP $89.

2UNDR

New for Spring 2023, the Flowshift is packed with performance traits for runners. It is constructed with an ultralight polyester/modal blend and features the patented Joey Pouch to support “equipment” in comfort and style. The ultralight material and all over perforation provide quick-dry performance suited for anything from athletic competition to regular everyday activities. Available in 3”, 6” and 9” leg lengths, and in five colors: Navy, Black, Grey, White and Red. MSRP $33, $35 and $37.

Brooks

New for Spring 2023 from Brooks, trail-ready pieces packed with performance details, including the High Point Waterproof Jacket. It features waterproof protection via its DriLayer Seal fabric, delivering 14k/14k-rated protection. And it has a semi-fitted construction for lightweight mobility, with a packable design. Brooks’ coordinating High Point Shorts, meanwhile, feature water/tear resistant DWR-treated ripstop fabric front panels, a notched side-split for full range of motion, and (4) hip drop-in storage options for trail essentials.

Nathan

In addition to offering a performance run apparel line, Nathan is expanding into “off road” apparel, too. Just released, in both jacket and vest options, Nathan’s Puffer is a windproof garment made with alternative down insulation, providing lightweight warmth, up to 600 fill power. A Pertex shield outer shell offers windproofness and water-resistance. The insulation and outer shell are made of recycled materials. Runners will like details such as: attached insulated contoured hoodie, elastic-bound cuffs for close fit and added protection against the elements, zippered hand pockets with brushed tricot lining for warmth, and a reflective logo on the right sleeve.
