Mizuno has launched the fifth iteration of its Wave Sky Series, the Wave Sky 5. The updated model, which retails for $170, features the brand’s new soft, responsive midsole material in the Enerzy Core and a new Smooth Stretch woven upper that wraps around a runner’s foot to create a semi-socklike fit that is breathable enough to keep feet dry on hard runs.


OS1st has entered an agreement to become the Official Sock and Compression Bracing Partner of USA Pickleball, the national governing body for the sport of pickleball in America. “We are invested in the pickleball community because we believe in the fun, inclusive nature of the sport; we know our products will keep players active by preventing injury and relieving pain,” said Josh Higgins, president and owner of OS1st.


Twisted X announced that it has reached net-zero emissions and is furthering its commitment to maintaining carbon neutrality. This qualification comes after assessing 2020 emissions from business operations at the company’s headquarter offices in Texas, contract factories in Mexico and Asia, and third-party distribution warehouse in Texas. Initially, Twisted X was projected to reach this milestone in 2022 — the company says it is “thrilled to have surpassed that goal.”


The Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) hires Lisa Futterman, a former senior regional communications manager for the American Red Cross in the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake (MD) Region, as marketing and communications manager.

Additionally, SFIA announced that registration is now open for SFIA’s Virtual Trends & Insights Event. Taking place November 9-11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the three-day virtual event will give attendees the opportunity to hear insights from Thought Leaders and Industry Executives on key trends impacting sports and fitness.


American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) will host its 7th Asia Executive Forum. Steve Lamar, president, and CEO of the trade organization, will be joined by Nate Herman, AAFA’s SVP of Policy, and Beth Hughes, VP of Trade and Customs Policy, to discuss supply chain, emerging growth opportunities and new technologies. Event takes place from 8-10:30pm ET in the U.S. and 9-11:30 am Hong Kong Time.
