B7ACTIVE
Body Confident / Born in London, b7active offers activewear for girls and women of all ages and backgrounds featuring styles designed with modesty in mind. For fall, the Long Sleeve Sports T-Shirt ($54) is created with temperature-controlling fabric and has neon piping for added visibility. The Weightless Sports Skirt ($66) is crafted with lightweight, non-transparent mesh material and contains a soft, seamless, flattering wide waistband. Since the waist can be rolled over, it offers flexibility to be worn on the hips or the waist. The Fit & Free Leggings ($71) fit like second skin with compression technology designed to increase blood and oxygen flow to leg muscles and prevent cramping.
KLUTCH ATHLETICS
Functional Style / Klutch Athletics, a new Black-owned sportswear brand made in partnership with New Balance, launched in February 2023 to deliver training apparel meant to empower all athletes, regardless of gender or sport. The focus of Klutch, which is led by high-profile sports agent Rich Paul, is on bringing a new look of training apparel to the next generation in youth and collegiate sports. The color inspiration will come from New Balance’s iconic greys. The Klutch Athletics debut apparel line will be available for purchase in April online and at select retail locations. Suggested retail prices range from $40 for t-shirts to $120 for hoodies.

Soft Sell / Introduced in March 2023, the new Evolve Collection is a sculpting activewear set featuring V1Uplift, a new fabric from the athletic brand. The fabric shapes and holds for a secure, flattering fit, while still feeling soft on the body and cool to the touch. The look, inspired by the active coastal California lifestyle, is sleek enough for both workouts and daily wear. Both the Evolve Legging ($118) and Evolve Square Neck Bra ($64) have a shiny finish that piques interest, yet remains understated.

Guy Gear / The DropTemp Cooling Mesh Boxer Brief, $38, is made with an advanced evaporative fabric that uses sweat to cool the body down. Whether hiking, biking, or working out at home, the performance underwear stays comfortable. Sweat is distributed through the fabric evenly, making it evaporate more efficiently. Unlike chemical cooling treat-ments, this lab-tested structure remains intact workout after workout - wash after wash. A BallPark Pouch keeps everything in place and reduces friction.

Made of recycled polyester, this eco-friendly pick also offers moisture wicking and quick dry capabilities. The double straps are soft and the bra is hardware-free, so no need to worry about marks left behind. This bra is customizable with removable Lights Out pads. The 7/8 length Hi Five Pocketed High-Waist Legging, $78, features a 5” waist and pockets on each side of the leg. Offering compression and performance, the recycled polyester leggings are also moisture wicking and guaranteed squat-proof.

Train Smarter / Tough training sessions call for high tech garments. The UA RUSH Seamless Legacy Short Sleeve ($65) contains infrared technology (powered by performance textile firm Celliant) that reflects the body’s energy to help athletes work harder and recover faster while staying dry. The quick-drying soft knit nylon/polyester fabric has engineered mesh ventilation mapped to the places it’s needed most. A streamlined fit offers balance between loose and tight, while four-way stretch allows ample movement. A nearly sew-free design eliminates chafing.
OYA FEMTECH APPAREL
Feminine Health Focus / Black-woman owned OYA Femtech Apparel prides itself on employing fabrics that absorb moisture, reduce bacteria, and provide natural ventilation to avoid feminine health issues and skin irritation. Over 60 doctors and 200 athletes helped the brand design and test its leggings and shorts. The Goddess Power Short, $69, features three discreet ventilation panels for breathability along with a removable insert to absorb moisture. A moisture-wicking four-way stretch fabric passes the squat test. Forget about chafing and irritation thanks to smooth flatlock seams and a soft, plush waistband.

Figure Flatterer / Offering support for any activity, from working out or hanging out at home, Champion’s Soft Touch Light Support Sports Bra, $35, has front adjustable straps that custom fit the body and mesh panels in the front and back for breathability. It is also moisture wicking, and has a smooth, chafe-resistant bottom band for comfort. Removable cups allow for customizable coverage. A compression fabric is supportive, for ease of movement in any pursuit.
PRESSIO
Climate Conqueror / Pressio makes technical apparel focused on sustainable procurement. The Fall ’23 Renew Insulation Jacket ($160) is crafted from EcoLOFT, which combines 100% recycled fabric with Unifi’s Repreve insulation for breathability and water-resistance. The Thermal Run Tight ($105) uses Pressio’s Thermal EcoPower CK to capture body heat and provide thermal regulation.
KRIMSON KLOVER
Layer it On / When an extra layer is in order, the Switchback Jacket ($219) fills the gap. A top seller for the brand, the Switchback is ideal for chilly days, delivering warmth without sacrificing style. This topper features 100% recycled polyester fabric that is insulated with 120gm recycled polyfill and is water repellent. The sleeves are crafted of a sweater knit for a trendy hybrid style for Fall 2023.
ANITA
Breathe Easy / The Air Control DeltaPad Sports Bra, $82, performs as advertised – providing lots of support and constant air circulation with its breathable, triangular DeltaPad foam cups. Additional support and comfort details include extra-flat seams, a soft, perforated underbust seam, a breathable mesh section lined with power tulle in the back, and ergo-nomically shaped, fully padded straps available in two widths (depending on the bra size). Also dropping for Fall 2023, the 1675 High Waist Leggings, $119, are crafted from fast-drying fabric with a breathable fiber structure for optimal air and moisture circulation. A soft waistband and extra-flat seams, along with clean-cut edging around the legs, provide comfort.
