Official FDRA/FFANY “Market Week” Will Not Occur in February
Citing its own research from discussions with both retailers and brands, the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) and Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) last week announced its decision to not formally promote its scheduled New York Market Week next month. Instead, the combined FDRA/FFANY organization will turn its attention to the June footwear trade show in New York City.
“Many industry retailers have shared that they will not be coming to New York during February FFANY for various reasons including the ongoing disruptions to the supply chain, the need for orders to be placed earlier and the latest developments on travel restrictions related to Omicron,” FDRA/FFANY said in its statement, adding, “While we continue to support each of you, we understand that many companies have New York showrooms and will conduct limited appointments as desired in February and many will attend regional shows. We encourage each company to do what is best for the health of your employees as well as your business.”
