Tom Adams, the inventor and founder of Kaepa athletic shoes and a one-time Catholic priest died earlier this month in San Antonio after a brief illness. He was 89. An avid, lifelong tennis player and a flight instructor for the last two decades, one of his final projects in the shoe industry was a multi-patented shoe closure system with no shoelaces under the corporate name, Fit Squared (see our Footwear Insight article on Adams from 2019).
