McCord Joins Edwards To Headline NSGA Conference & Team Dealer Summit

Golf broadcasting personality Gary McCord will join football coaching legend Herm Edwards, to bring even more star power to the National Sporting Goods Association’s (NSGA) 56th Management Conference & 22nd Annual Team Dealer Summit in Phoenix, AZ, in May.
McCord, who became one of the most recognizable names in golf even though he never won a tournament in 23 years as a player on the PGA Tour, will bring his quick wit and honest insights as a golf television analyst, author and speaker. He will provide the concluding keynote speech.
McCord has said “life is full of ups and downs, good and bad, but it wouldn’t be fun any other way.” He poked fun at his PGA Tour career, where two runner-up finishes were his best in 422 tournaments, by having the license plate “NO WINS” on his car for years.
Edwards, who will offer the keynote speech, just completed his second season as head coach at Arizona State and led the team to a Sun Bowl victory and an 8-5 record that included an upset of Rose Bowl champion Oregon. He defied skeptics who wondered if he could be successful on the sideline again by leading the Sun Devils to a bowl game in his first season after nine successful years as an NFL analyst for ESPN television and radio.
Edwards and McCord continue NSGA’s tradition of presenting speakers unlike any event in the sporting goods industry, including basketball Hall of Famers Bill Walton and coaches Mike Krzyzewski of Duke and Tom Izzo of Michigan State, legendary baseball ironman Cal Ripken, Jr., world champion boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and outspoken golf analyst David Feherty.
Registration is open for the Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit at nsga.org/events/conference2020/.
