Twisted-X is launching a line of footwear that uses no glue in its construction. Footwear in Twisted-X’s new, no-glue Zero-X line is made utilizing a proprietary interlocking, double-stitching system. The construction process eliminates 75 percent of the harsh environmental issues created with traditional footwear, according to the brand. The lightweight and breathable shoes have ecoTWX uppers made from recycled plastic water bottles salvaged from oceans and landfills. The Zero-X line will include four styles for men and four styles for women, with full distribution coming in February, 2021. A tree will be planted with every pair sold.

Clae has launched a new line of footwear made with vegan cactus leather. Made in collaboration with Desserto, creators of sustainable, plant-based, vegan leather, the Bradley Cactus leather shoe from Clae also features laces made of recycled nylon from plastic waste, and a heel tab detail made of non-toxic, synthetic neoprene. The natural rubber sole is made with latex sap of the Hevea tree. The Bradley Cactus comes in eco-friendly packaging made from recycled cardboard.

Deckers, parent company of brands such as Hoka One One, Teva and Ugg, is offering a collection of shoes under the Deckers X Lab label that is described as being the natural evolution of the Deckers Brands Innovation Team. The X-Scape Mid, pictured here, combines slipper comfort with casual style and running shoe performance. The X-Scape uses EcoTan grava leather and has a wool felt upper lined with Looped Wool for a barefoot feel while also acting as a thermoregulator.
