Fila and Krost are expanding their partnership with a new premium capsule collection that includes men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, and the latest iterations of the unisex KROST x FILA Renno shoe. The term “Friends” and KROST’s “Support Your Friends” moniker appear throughout the capsule. The new collection will bring awareness to non-profit organization Good Sports, which drives equitable access in youth sports and physical activity by supporting children in high-need communities. Ten percent of every purchase from the KROST x FILA collection ($30-150 suggested retails) will be donated to Good Sports.

Mizuno’s nine-month global profit of ¥6.1 billion ($52.8 mn) was the highest since the Japanese company began disclosing quarterly results in 2008. Strong sales of golf gear and running, especially in the Americas and EMEA, fueled a 17 percent revenue increase to ¥124.9 billion ($1.08 bn) for the period ended Dec. 31. In the Americas, nine-month revenues increased 35 percent to ¥18.5 billion ($160.1 mn). By category, the brand’s footwear sales rose 20 percent higher to ¥35.1 billion ($303.8 mn) and apparel inched 2.3 percent higher to ¥35.5 billion ($307.2 mn).

Retail Import disruptions are likely to continue throughout 2022 despite a slowdown in cargo growth, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker. As of last week, congestion remained on both coasts with Los Angeles having 40 ships waiting to dock. Some catch-up in backlog is expected with Lunar New Year factory closings in Asia and a subsequent decline in export production. U.S. ports are expected to handle 13 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units – one 20-foot container or its equivalent – during the first half of 2022, up 1.5 percent over the 12.8 million TEU handled during the same period in 2021.
