BSN Sports Acquiring Foot Locker’s Team Sales Unit

Share:

Foot Locker Inc.’s Eastbay Team Sales business is being acquired by BSN Sports, a direct marketer and distributor of sporting goods, footwear, apparel and branding to the school and league markets. Financial terms of the transaction, expected to close in the coming weeks, were not disclosed. Foot Locker Retail, a subsidiary of Foot Locker, is divesting its service-focused team sales unit to tighten its focus on core operations. The team division has historically generated less than 1 percent of Foot Locker’s annual consolidated sales, $89.6 million in the most recent fiscal year.

Eastbay Team sales, based in Wisconsin, was founded in 1987 and acquired by Foot Locker in 1997. It had over 100 team sales professionals to connect with U.S. high school coaches and athletic directors. With the sell-off, Foot Locker will complete the consolidation of the Eastbay.com retail website into its Champs Sports business in an integration that commenced in 2019.
