In its second early 2021 acquisition, BSN Sports has acquired Sports Plus, based in Tullahoma, TN, and its owner Joe Barstad has joined the company.

Barstad had owned and operated Sports Plus since founding the business in 1997 and he received the 2019 Tullahoma Citizen of the Year award in recognition of this commitment to the community.

“Over the past 30 years, I have focused on uplifting the athletic community in and around Tullahoma and I am excited to continue those efforts with the enhanced resources and scale of BSN Sports,” says Barstad. “The innovation, technology and customizable product selection that BSN Sports brings to the table will bring incredible value to our customers and help our coaches continue to make an impact.”

As part of Barstad’s transition to BSN Sports, he will close Sports Plus.

Earlier this year BSN Sports had acquired Shively Sporting Goods, based in Louisville, KY in its first 2021 acquisition.
