Atmos Exiting U.S. Market

Share:

Sneaker and streetwear retailer Atmos’s parent company Foot Locker is reportedly pulling the plug on the banner’s U.S. operations some two years after purchasing the digitally focused global retailer based in Japan for $360 million. Atmos stores in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New York City along with the brand’s U.S. website are expected to shutter by year-end so the business can focus on Asian markets.

Atmos, which opened its first store in Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan in 2000, expanded into the U.S. in 2020 when it merged with sneaker boutique Ubiq. Foot Locker acquired the company in August 2021. The banner specializes in streetwear and sneakers, including collaborations from several brands that include adidas, Asics, New Balance, and Nike among others.
