Asics, Mizuno Make Gains in Running

Share:

Asics, which now anticipates its current FY sales to reach the equivalent of $3.84 billion, reported 20 percent first half growth in its performance running business to $1.03 billion. The gain was bolstered by the brand’s promotion of its Gel-Nimbus 25 in key global regions, including North America.

In North America, gains in performance running and core performance sports led Asics to 17 percent H1 sales growth to approximately $390.5 million and a regional operating profit of $3.5 million.

At Mizuno, meanwhile, the company reported record operating profit for the period ended June 30 thanks to strong sales growth outside Japan and a recovery from year-ago supply chain woes. First quarter revenues in the Americas rose by 47 percent year-over-year in local currency to the equivalent of $72.6 million. The brand’s global footwear sales increased by 46 percent to $125.7 million. The running shoe category recovered from previous supply chain issues with 53 percent sales growth to about $48.2 million in H1 sales.
