SIMPLY RUNNING
Gear that enhances rather than dominates the run experience.

The difference between a blissful training run and a tough one sometimes comes down to the gear one chooses. The right shoes, technical apparel, and accessories help balance performance with comfort on a daily run. In 2026, an emerging theme in the running world is a subtle shift towards a simpler, “back-to-basics” ethos. Many runners today want gear that enhances rather than dominates the experience.

Ryka

The Devotion Swift running shoe fits the trend towards hybrid fitness that combines gym routines and running. It is designed to deliver support and energy return for HiiT workouts or daily miles. It blends soft cushioning with energy return, and is designed with a woman’s body in mind, utilizing RYKÄQ TECH — built for a woman’s quadricep muscle Q ANGLE with a narrower heel, roomier toe and contoured cushioning for stability. The shoe also has a breathable upper and heel-to-toe drop of 9mm. MSRP $99.

Anita Active

A high quality sports bra can be a true difference maker for female runners. New for Fall 2026, Anita Active’s DynamiXstar Sports Bra in Blue Iris (MSRP $99) features an X-back design, which offers freedom of movement of arms and shoulders. The unique straps are ergonomically designed and adjustable at the front to relieve pressure on the shoulders and prevent tension. Plus, the straps create a racerback with a back closure, providing additional support and more stability. The molded cups are made of double-layer piqué with a moisture-wicking terry cloth lining for comfort, reducing chafing during everyday runs and even more intense trainings. The wide under bust band combined with the breathable mesh back ensures a high level of comfort and optimal ventilation.

Joy Haizen, managing director, Anita Active says that a key detail a female runner often looks for in a sports bra is a racerback style for freedom of movement and support. “Anita Active’s designs and engineering provide everyday runners sports bra styles which provide optimal comfort, exceptional quality, maximum support with an outstanding fit,” she notes.
