In The News: White Mountain Footwear, American Exchange Group, Gordini, Turtle Fur

American Exchange Group has acquired the White Mountain Footwear company, a comfort brand focused on accessible price points. The acquisition comes a year after American Exchange Group acquired another comfort brand, Aerosoles, last January. The parent company intends to integrate and leverage the structure, sourcing and manufacturing capabilities, management and execution of both brands, expanding their distribution channels and audiences. White Mountain is currently sold at retailers such as Macy's, DSW, Kohl's, Boscov's, Amazon, Famous Footwear and Shoe Carnival.

Cold-weather performance brand Gordini is entering the performance sock category in Fall 2023 with the introduction of both ski and hiking socks for women and men. The company says it has invested in an Italian knitting technology that allows for strategic placement of yarns for dynamic performance and comfort. Gordini’s sock collection will include four ski and four hiking socks for men and women in varying weights, ranging from the Sterling, a heavyweight, over-the-calf ski sock, to the Eden lightweight hike crew sock, and the ultralight Ripton ski sock. The socks feature the exclusive SoleKNIT dual layer construction and OrbitKNIT ribbing technology.

Turtle Fur, the outdoor headwear and accessories firm celebrating its 40th anniversary, became a Certified B Corp. in late December. To achieve the designation, the Morrisville, VT company underwent a lengthy review of business practices and operations to measure their effect on people, community, and the environment. Companies must achieve a minimum score to achieve certification. B Corp.-certified means a company is committed to using business as a force for positive change with certain standards for social and environmental impact.
