Lululemon, which launched its own footwear line in 2022, is being sued by Nike for patent infringement in four of its footwear styles. The lawsuit, filed Jan. 30 in the federal court for the Southern District of New York, charges lululemon with infringing on three Nike patents. The lululemon footwear styles named in the lawsuit — Chargefeel Mid, Chargefeel Low, Blissfeel, and Strongfeel — are performance styles designed for running and training.

The Nike patents in question focus on method of manufacturing “an article of footwear with a textile element,” “a textile element containing a plurality of webbed areas and tubular structures that are adjacent to each other,” and footwear “with an upper including a flat-knitted element with a central portion having a domed, three-dimensional structure configured for extending over the top of a foot.”
