Journeys Group Scores Strong Full-Price Sales in Q4

The Genesco-owned retail chain Journeys realized a 4 percent drop in comparable sales (Stores and Direct) for the period ended Dec. 26, 2020 as it recorded strong full-price selling. Same-store sales declined 14 percent, but ecommerce revenues rose 49 percent with results bolstered by inventory management at the specialty footwear chain.

Elsewhere in brand and retail financial news,

  • Tilly’s realized a 65 percent increase in ecommerce net sales during a nine-week holiday sales period ended Jan. 4 to represent 31 percent ($46.1 million) of period revenues against 19.5 percent ($28.1 million). Comparable store sales were 2.7 percent higher versus a 2.0 percent decline in 2019.
  • Crocs’ projected record FY20 revenues of $1,381-1,384 million, a year-over-year jump of more than 12 percent, are forecast to be followed by FY21 revenue growth of 20-25 percent.
