Cole Haan is entering the performance golf category with a collection of three new footwear styles designed and engineered for golf performance. The new spikeless golf offerings are engineered to provide traction, cushioning, ideal fit and weather-proofing, combined with the brand’s unique style. The golf footwear will be available in Cole Haan’s ØriginalGrand, GrandPrø, and Generation ZERØGRAND lines. Dick’s Sporting Goods is among the retailers who will sell the shoes. The styles across both men’s and women’s sizing retail between $140-$170.

NSGA finds abnormal increases and decreases in 2020 sports participation levels, likely caused by impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the trade group’s 2021 Sports Participation in the U.S. report, available soon at research@nsga.org, Wheel Sports (+15.5%), Snow Sports (+4.3%), Shooting Sports (+4.3%), Personal Contact Sports (+2.8%) and Open Water Sports (+2.5%) all grew last year. Declining activities included: Individual Sports (-9.3%), Team Sports (-6.4%) and Fitness Activities (-2.1%). Outdoor Activities and Indoor Games had relatively flat participation.

Results from the FDRA’s “Spring 2021 Footwear Buying Trends” Shopper Survey indicate that a majority (52 percent) of consumer respondents report being very likely to purchase new shoes this Spring, with casual shoes/sneakers ranking as the most popular shoe choice at 53 percent. Running or gym shoes were the next most popular choice with 32 percent, followed by work shoes or other footwear with 9 percent, and fashion-focused shoes with 5 percent.
