Iconix Brand Group Will Explore Strategic Alternatives

New York brand management company Iconix Brand Group, which already has a definitive agreement in place to sell rights to the Umbro and Starter brands in China, is expected to consider a broad range of strategic alternatives, including a potential sale, a merger or business combination, a recapitalization of its capital structure and disposition of brands and related assets.

Iconix’s existing portfolio includes 22 owned brands, including Ocean Pacific (OP), Danskin and Umbro and seven brands, including Modern Amusement and PONY, where it owns a stake.
