The start of the new year has brought a flurry of activity in the business of team sports, with a number of companies making strategic moves to position themselves for a challenging 2021.

Gill/Porter Adds Crown Sports Sales

Don Leonard with Crown Sports Sales has been brought on to represent Gill Athletics and Porter Athletic in North Carolina and South Carolina beginning this month.

“We value our network of team sales reps and know Don can effectively support you and your school customers,” Gill wrote in a release announcing the move. “We respect Don’s hands-on approach to brand representation. He is a great fit with our inside sales and service group and reflects our mission to “empower coaches with innovative equipment.”

Gill Athletics is a track and field equipment brand, offering a line of products focused on high school and college athletic programs. Porter Athletic offers a complete line of volleyball, basketball and gymnasium equipment and is a leader in new gymnasium custom-engineered equipment. its sub-brands include PowerMax training and fitness equipment, Pacer pole vaulting poles and Upper 90 soccer goals.

Stahls’ Brings On Graphics Solutions in the Southwest

Effective February 1, 2021, Graphics Solutions Group (GSG), based in Dallas, TX, began offering Stahls’ complete range of CAD-CUT heat transfer vinyl and athletic numbers, and Hotronix heat press equipment.

GSG, a wholesale distributor for the apparel decorating, digital printing, electrical sign and commercial sign markets since 1950, will work together with Stahls’ to support customers throughout the region with training, as well as collaborating on marketing efforts.

Guardian Sports To Sell 2nd Skull To Teams

In a move that brings together two organizations that have both previously earned product development grants from the National Football League as winners of the HeadHealth Tech Challenge Series, an annual event focused on the development and improvement of player safety equipment, 2nd Skull has entered into an agreement with Guardian Sports that enables Guardian Sports to directly market and sell 2nd Skull’s product line to teams, leagues, schools, and other athletic organizations across North America.

2nd Skull’s patented protective headgear will complement and help to strengthen Guardian’s line of protective products.

It was announced in August that the NFL chose to evaluate Guardian Caps and with the support of the NFL Players’ Association, permitted the Guardian Cap NXT for use in practice by NFL offensive and defensive linemen.
