BSN Surpassed $1.5 Billion In Sales Last Year

In a rare report on actual sales at the company, BSN Sports president and COO Terry Babilla recently told a local business magazine, D CEO, that the company recorded $1.5 billion in annual sales in 2022. It is quite a turnaround from when he joined BSN Sports in 2003, Babilla said, when he admitted the company was on the verge of bankruptcy, and following tough years brought on by youth sports shutdowns from COVID-19.
“I want to be the Amazon of team sales,” Babilla told D CEO. “We’ve really been able to scale this business by out-servicing everybody else, just like Amazon was able to do, and that’s what I want to become.”
Babilla attributed the turnaround to a four-part strategy focused on reducing debt, expanding sales, reducing expenses and scaling operations.
The growth in 2022 and future growth will be fueled by the recently launched digital effort called B2B2C and a private label program to provide new growth opportunities over the next five years.
“We’re reinventing BSN right now,” Babilla added. “We’re in a digital transformation and are investing a lot of time, energy and money into meeting our customers where they want to be met. Our current innovations are a big asset to us.”
