ASICS Corp. Shuffles Exec Suite, Names New Prez

Mitsuyuki Tominaga, 61, who has played a key role in promoting the digitalization of ASICS since 2018, is slated to become president and Chief Operating Officer of the Japanese company on March 22, 2024, following the retirement of company Chairman and Director Motoi Oyama. Meanwhile, current President, CEO and COO Yasuhito Hirota moves to Chairman and CEO.

Tominaga is a former Anderson Consulting and IBM Japan executive who became president of Works Applications America in 2016 before joining ASICS two years later as the senior general manager of its IT division.

“I will do my best to provide a wider range of customers with the fruits of ASICS’ long-term passionate commitment to product development and creation,” Tominaga said in a statement. “To achieve this, I aim to bring transformation whereby digital strategy will be place at the center of our management and deeply incorporated into our global business.”
