New sustainable comfort brand Vibae wants to bring casual, unstructured style to the market. Headed by Ludo Malmoux, founder of OTZ and former design voice at K-Swiss, Royal Elastics and more, the brand is launching with a single unisex style retailing for $143, with plans to expand as it grows. The Portugal-made line uses natural rubber outsoles and organic French linen uppers. Currently available at the brand’s e-commerce site and in two retail locations (in Malibu, CA and Helsinki), Vibae plans to launch wholesale in the near future.

Sandal brand OluKai is giving back to Hawaii’s local food system with the Island Flower collection. A portion of proceeds from the sale of the collection will support the Chef Hui Group, an organization of local farmers, chefs and restaurants providing meals to people in need on the islands, which have been hard-hit by cancelations and declines in tourism spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic. The men’s and women’s collection features artwork depicting the official flowers of all four Hawaiian islands, and are available now.

Luxury sneaker brand Mercer Amsterdam is introducing a Spring/Summer 2021 collection called the WR3RD Wine Pack made from the waste products of Italian wine production. Through a development partnership with Italy-based Vegea, grapes are processed a specific way to form the basis of the sneaker’s upper, which is soft, smooth and stable and can be recycled. Additionally, the collection’s styles utilize mesh made from recycled PET bottles and an EVA sole made with Algae.
