Outdoor Retailer Launches Online Platform

With its signature summer event normally held in Denver cancelled due to COVID-19, Outdoor Retailer will instead host a virtual three-day event for networking, education and business from July 21 to 23. The platform will remain available for registered show attendees through Aug. 31.

According to the show, Outdoor Retailer Online will feature live and on-demand line showings and appointments, live educational seminars, and matchmaking and search tools to connect brands and buyers. Features of the live show — including the Outdoor Industry Association’s Breakfast and the Outdoor Retailer Inspiration Awards — will stream live.

“Since the cancellation of Outdoor Retailer Summer Market due to COVID-19, it’s been our goal to find an alternative platform that best connects our community this summer. We’re excited to launch Outdoor Retailer Online to create a place that keeps us all united,” Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer SVP and show director, said in a release. “While the value of coming together in person is irreplaceable, we used guidance from industry feedback – through conversations and surveys – to develop a custom online space to help outdoor businesses with both immediate and future needs. Outdoor Retailer Online is going to provide an important opportunity to listen, learn, and be inspired.”
