Footwear Shopping Behavior
In our latest Trend Insight survey, we asked more than 300 consumers about their footwear shopping behavior – where they shop, how they decide what to buy, and how they feel about current footwear prices.

We also asked about their intended shopping this Fall and Winter. Shoppers told us they are most likely to buy running shoes (53%), casual/comfort shoes (47%), walking shoes (43%) and boots (43%) this Fall and Winter. When selecting shoes, the most important criteria listed by shoppers was Comfort and Fit (#1), followed by  Quality and Durability (#2) and Price and Value (#3). While 66% of shoppers told us they have seen price increases in footwear they’d like to purchase, 47% of shoppers told us they plan to continue purchasing footwear at the same price points over the next few months. And 50% of shoppers told us if prices rise over the next six months they will wait for sales and promotions to buy their footwear. Our survey also asks shoppers about shoe care products, and what consumers like most about their favorite footwear brands.

This survey conducted by MESH01 included 307 respondents, men and women who are active and purchased footwear in the past six months. Trend Insight is a feature within Footwear Insight that delivers research conducted on the MESH01 Platform. MESH01 collects data from a select panel of active and outdoor enthusiasts.
