More than 60% of consumers tell us they have shopped in a brick-and-mortar store for footwear at least 3-5 times this year. When shopping for footwear in-store, 54% report that the “sit-and-fit” experience was “very important.” Other in-store experiences highlighted were loyalty programs and return policies, with 78% saying they have joined a store’s loyalty program and 68% saying they consider a store’s return policy when making a purchase. Looking ahead to Holiday shopping, consumers tell us they plan to shop early, with 25% saying they started Holiday shopping in September, 12% saying they’ll do most shopping in October and 39% in November. When it comes to Holiday spending on footwear, 50% say they’ll spend the same as last year, with 19% saying they’ll spend more. And 27% say they plan to buy a gift card from a footwear store as a Holiday gift.
